One Room Challenge- Week 5- Kitchen Remodel
Painting
This week the cabinets were painted, the white oak cabinet, island, and vent hood trim were stained. I like the natural white oak look, so I was thinking of using a clear coat on the white oak piece, but the test sample turned out darker and had a warmer tone. My floors are white oak with a mix of light and dark tones throughout, so I selected the lightest tone and had the painter match as close as possible, and I love how it turned out.
In week 4 the cabinets were installed. See week 4 post.
The cabinets were painted Simply White by Benjamin Moore, paired with navy hood, Hale Navy by Benjamin Moore, with a slat detail.
White oak trim installed on vent hood and final coat of stain complete.
Walls are getting painted Classic Gray, by Benjamin Moore. In my home this doesn’t look like gray, it reads more of an ecru.

Installed and stain of the white oak end cabinet. I’m using seeded glass for the inserts.
